There are many activities for people to engage in if they live in or are visiting London. The English capital is one of the cultural centres of the world and there are plenty of entertainment venues and places of interest to visit, as well as activities to try.
One publication has suggested that those in the metropolis may want to get their skates on and rollerblade. These days, there are a number of ways in which individuals can purchase these items. They can either head to a skate shop in person, or use an online skate store.
In a London City guide, the Guardian listed ten activities that it claimed are among the best outdoor pursuits in the capital. Among them was power-kiting. This involves either donning a pair of inline skates, sitting in a buggy or standing on a landboard and being pulled along by a kite.
It is possible to take part in the sport at Richmond Park, which spans almost 1,000 hectares and is the city's largest Royal Park.
The activity is called Kitevibe and all kinds of lessons are offered, from tester sessions for beginners to more advanced alternatives. Meanwhile, the Guardian points out that if and when people become bored with the activity, they can venture off and stroll among the many deer present in the area.
Meanwhile, another option for those who have bought items in a skate shop or online skate store is to take their wheels down to Battersea Park. The publication stated the location is "fascinating" and noted there are views of the Thames, as well as a lake, art gallery and children's zoo.
It remarked: "Instead of exploring on foot or by bike, try eight wheels instead: there is a free group skate every dry Saturday at 10.30am, starting at the Japanese Peace Pagoda. There are no hills or traffic so it's suitable for children and beginners." The group is called Easy Peasy Skate.
